This Is It: Join Us October 17 for Hop Country Live
After months of planning, announcements, and anticipation, Hop Country Live is finally here. On October 17, Sozo Sports Complex in Yakima will welcome approximately 600 guests for a one-night, 21+ live music experience featuring The Beach Boys with Whiskey Talkin’. We’ve talked about this being a new chapter for Hop Country all year, and now we finally get to experience that new chapter together.
Whiskey Talkin’ will open the evening with live country music before The Beach Boys bring their legendary catalog of songs to Central Washington. We’re incredibly excited to have both groups joining us and to give our community an opportunity to experience this caliber of entertainment without having to travel to Seattle, Portland, or another major market. Great live music in Washington State doesn’t always require a road trip over the mountains—sometimes it comes directly to Yakima.
Inside Sozo, guests will find something very different from a normal night at the sports complex. We’re trading soccer balls for beach balls and transforming our gym for a tropical luau celebration. Put on the Hawaiian shirt, grab the flip-flops, bring your friends, and come ready for an evening of music, food, drinks, laughter, and community. With attendance limited to around 600 people, this is designed to feel like a special night shared among the people who support Sozo and believe in what we’re building.
That mission is the most important part of Hop Country Live. Sozo Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and proceeds from the evening help us provide opportunities for youth through sports and recreation. Our donors, sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and supporters make that work possible throughout the year. Hop Country Live gives us an opportunity to say thank you while also raising the funds needed to keep moving that mission forward.
So here we go, Yakima. October 17, 2026 is our night. Whether you’ve supported Hop Country since the beginning or this will be your first time joining us, we would love to have you there as we begin something new. The Beach Boys, Whiskey Talkin’, a luau in October, and hundreds of friends gathered together for Sozo Sports—that sounds like a pretty good way to spend a Saturday night in Central Washington.
